Instructor
RUBEN CHAVEZ PINCHEIRA
Ruben Chavez Pincheira was born in Argentina, and at the age of six he moved with his family to Chile. It was there that he quickly fell in love with Chile’s national dance, the Cueca, a spirited art form that blends physical skill with playful elegance. With dedication and talent, Ruben proudly represented his region in national championships, earning top placements and recognition for his artistry. His passion for dance soon extended to his roots. Feeling a deep connection with his country of birth, Argentina, Ruben was drawn to the Tango. He became part of a tango ensemble, where he not only learned the intricate steps but also stood out for his natural style and charisma on stage. In 2013, Ruben made the life changing decision to move to Canada, a country that welcomed him and allowed him to grow both personally and professionally. Yet, he never forgot his passion for dance. His commitment to the Cueca remained unshaken, and his determination led him to achieve remarkable success: becoming a two time World Cueca Champion, in 2015 and 2019. For Ruben, dance is not just an art, it is a lifelong passion that reflects his perseverance and joy for life. Joining Fred Astaire Dance Studios marks yet another milestone in his journey, a blessing he attributes to God, and an opportunity to continue pursuing his love for dance while striving for even greater accomplishments.

Amalia began exploring the world of dance at a young age, around 10 years old, when she joined the MDA (Music, Dance, and Acting) academy. There, she immersed herself in a wide variety of rhythms such as jazz, street jazz, latin jazz, ballet, and contemporary dance. During her time at the academy, she participated in numerous musicals, including Burlesque and Cats, which allowed her to build a solid foundation in various artistic disciplines.
